Acknowledging emotions-The path to your child's heart

Though tiny and vulnerable, children are humans and possess all those emotions and feelings we adults have. They have a unique perspective of seeing and analysing things and situations around them which makes them different from adults. Like every human being, children too love to be noticed and acknowledged, especially by their parents.

This not only validates their self-worth but also gives them the feeling that their presence in this world matters to people who matter to them. Acknowledging your little one’s emotions is necessary to step every parent should take to reach his or her heart. Young kids are often unable to differentiate between emotions like frustration and anger or jealousy and envy, but parents can help in its right identification. Let your child know that venting one’s feelings in the right way is okay and you won’t judge him for doing so. Teach him the appropriate method of dealing with such emotions.
